Healthcare

After more than 25 years as a family practice physician, I've seen our healthcare system from the inside, and I know it's broken. Costs are too high, care is too tangled in red tape, and too many hardworking families are paying more for insurance they can barely afford to use. Making healthcare affordable again is one of my top priorities in Congress.

Since Obamacare passed, deductibles and out-of-pocket costs have skyrocketed, leaving millions of Americans with coverage on paper they can't actually use. I'm leading legislation to put patients back in charge through price transparency and expanded health savings accounts, and to stop the insurance-driven prior authorization requests and mandated step therapies that delay critical care.

On prescription drugs, I support the Trump Administration's efforts to negotiate lower prices, and I've backed legislation to ensure drug rebates go directly to patients rather than getting absorbed by PBMs. And to address the shortage of healthcare workers, particularly in rural Utah, I've introduced legislation to streamline apprenticeship pathways for aspiring nurses and medical assistants.

You deserve a healthcare system built around your health, your wallet, and your choices, not the bureaucracies and middlemen standing between you and your doctor.
